Proclamation Commending Village of Old Field
  Building Inspector Joseph Arico

On November 3, 2022, the Smithtown Historical Society awarded Joseph Arico, Town of Smithtown Director of Parks, its 2022 Partner in History Award. The award is issued to those individuals who have demonstrated a love of conservation, community, a devotion to civics, and the mission of preserving and interpreting Smithtown history and culture. The Village of Old Field congratulates Joe for this prestigious and well-deserved award.

For more than twenty years, Joseph Arico has served as the Building Inspector for the Village of Old Field. In that capacity, he has rendered the Village and its residents professional and effective service resulting in facilitating residential building and development while protecting the community through rigorous but fair enforcement of our building codes. We note with particular gratitude the essential role Joe played in the renovation of the Keeper’s Cottage and his anticipated assistance in the future restoration of the Lighthouse.

Thus, on behalf of the Village, the Mayor and Members of the Board of Trustees, congratulates Joe and thanks him for his countless contributions to our Village and confirming that there is no greater challenge and no greater honor than to be in public service.
